Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam kehidupan anak usia sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam penggunaan gawai sebagai sarana hiburan dan pembelajaran. Namun, penggunaan gawai yang tidak terkontrol berpotensi menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif, seperti menurunnya konsentrasi belajar, gangguan sosial-emosional, serta kecanduan digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas program edukasi parenting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan orang tua dalam mengendalikan penggunaan gawai anak Sekolah Dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan selama enam bulan melalui pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan 45 orang tua dari sekolah mitra. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup seminar parenting, diskusi interaktif, pelatihan penyusunan aturan penggunaan gawai, serta pendampingan penerapan parenting digital di rumah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman orang tua tentang parenting digital, dengan skor rata-rata meningkat dari 42 menjadi 78 (peningkatan 36 poin). Durasi penggunaan gawai anak mengalami penurunan dari rata-rata 3,5 jam per hari menjadi 1,8 jam per hari (penurunan 48%). Sebanyak 89% orang tua berhasil menyusun kesepakatan aturan penggunaan gawai bersama anak, dan 87% menerapkannya secara konsisten. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan partisipatif dan pendampingan berkelanjutan efektif dalam mengendalikan penggunaan gawai anak serta meningkatkan kualitas pengasuhan di era digital.
